The perfect coffee in 6 easy steps with a Moka pot:
1. FILL WITH HOT WATER
Fill the lower part of the Moka pot, preferably with hot water, up to just below the safety valve.
2. GRINDING FRESH COFFEE
Grind the fresh Blanche Dael coffee slightly coarser than filter coffee. Do you not have a coffee grinder? We grind the coffee to the proper grind just before dispatch.
3. PLACE THE METAL FILTER
Place the filter tray in the pot and fill it with "mug" ground coffee up to the brim so that the filter is filled. Spread the coffee evenly in the tray, but do not press down on the coffee. Remove excess coffee at the rim.
4. TIGHTEN FIRMLY
Screw the top of the pot firmly onto the bottom.
5. PLACE ON THE HEAT SOURCE
Place the mug on a gas cooker or hotplate. The boiling water will slowly find its way through the ground coffee to the top jug due to the steam pressure. The colour of the coffee is deep brown. The espresso is ready as soon as steam comes out of the spout. Remove the espresso coffee pot from the heat source immediately. N.B. do not let the flame come near the espresso pot; otherwise, the handle may burn. The pot is hot anyway, so watch out for burning and the positioning of the pot. Let the bottom of the pot cool off under the tap.
6. SERVE & ENJOY!
For the authentic Italian experience, serve the coffee in a pre-heated espresso cup. Now enjoy a delicious Italian coffee experience. Tip: do not wash the Moka pot with soap or in the dishwasher, but rinse it thoroughly and allow all parts to dry separately.
